Roland Dyens linking the world of Jazz Improvisation and Classical Guitar

Roland Dyens begins his concerts with an original, improvisational piece created especially for his immediate audience. His stage presence, improvised openings and singular relationship with listeners positions him at the forefront of guitar performance today. His compositions and arrangements are widely performed and highly acclaimed throughout the world.

Born in 1955, Dyens began guitar studies at the age of nine and four years later became a student of the Spanish master guitarist Alberto Ponce. Master Class Concert

December 16, 2008

Congratulations to the Fall Master Class "Concept to Concert" for a concert well done. On Saturday December 13 musicians performed a wide array of Christmas music for friends and family at Love The Arts! Studios. This Master Class organized from beginning to end a concert of Christmas music, all pieces were memorized and students had hands on experience in every aspect of putting on a concert from advertising to program design. A job well done by all. Keep an eye on the web site for video performances of the concert.
